A black and white impression of the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus on the Greek peninsula of Peloponnese.
Epidaurus was one of the most famous places of worship and healing in the ancient world; the theatre was built around 330 BC and served as a place of culture and entertainment for over 700 years.
Today, the Theatre of Epidaurus is considered one of the best-preserved theatres of antiquity. It still impresses its visitors with its outstanding acoustics, as well as with its architecture, which despite its size (up to 14,000 seats!) seems to nestle sensitively into the hilly landscape.
