Noto – Basilica del Santissimo Salvatore

Discover Sicily - with inspiring photos and wall art by Alexander Voss

An impression from the Sicilian town of Noto, and an example of the typical late Baroque architecture of the Val di Noto: The monastery church Basilica del Santissimo Salvatore.

Noto was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693 and completely rebuilt starting in 1703; today, as a Sicilian Baroque city, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
